I also found this distracting, my solution was to lower the "Lightning" option to high (whatever you prefer) this won't impact the prrformacr (majorly, or miniorly in fact depending on your PC/LaptopMasterRace.
You also have to get used to the "feel" of ps2 on ultra , but if you don't want flash stuffy just go back to your normal settings and I move the render quality to around 90% ( or 100% if you wanted to ho back to your old state ). After 1 hour of playing it felt "normal" but with a bit more pleasing look. (Camos do look great espically with the Lightning option increased )
And you will see your bullets hit the target or not easier .
It comes down to your preference but I thought it was the lighting option I also didn't like it at "tf (ultra)"
Oh yeah when I was talking about lowering the render quality to 90 % or so . That's the reason the game played smoothly on ultra settings , but idk if it will look pleasant then as it would look worse with your old settings, before you attempted this.
